Abstract

The concept of globalization can be considered as a rapid transformation process in which national economies, cultures and borders begin to intertwine and most of the social life shaped by the global actors. Today, existing non -governmental organizations (NGOs) are one of the policy -producing actors of globalization. However, communication opportunities for NGOs have become a very important channel in particular to guide the public. Civil society is a very important actor in the near future of Turkey, which keeps pace with the rapidly globalizing world. Therefore, the field of movement of NGOs is increasingly starting to exhibit an international quality. In this study, the situation and rise of NGOs in the globalization process are examined. The results of the research show that with the acquisition of neoliberal approaches in the Western understanding, the activities and guidance of international NGOs increased considerably increasing both economically and politically. International NGOs have become a pioneer with the effective and strategic methods they use to create global awareness in the world, the channels that provide access to many people in a short time, and the increase in technical competencies in this process. These multi -actor organizations have not only developed economic and politically, but also provided cultural and social gains to the world. It was interesting that the first core of the NGOs in Turkey emerged in response to the needs of the Ottoman Empire in the early 19th century for economic independence. In other words, NGOs first emerged as an expression of individual interest not only to the Western experience, but also to the Turkish experience.
