Abstract
The use of preventive, curative and rehabilitative services in order to maximize the health that is important for the individual's life is called the use of health services. In order to optimize health services and increase their efficiency, it is necessary to identify community behaviors. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the factors affecting the use of health services. In this study, it is aimed to determine the factors that 450 individuals between the ages of 18-70 residing in the province of Istanbul pay attention to when choosing health services. The survey started on 31 July 2021 and ended on 25 October 2021. The factors affecting the use of health services according to gender, age, marital status, number of children, education, occupation, income were examined. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 27.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), and the level of significance was taken as α=0.05. According to the results of the study, it was determined that there was a significant difference in the health institution preferences of individuals according to age, marital status, number of children, education level, occupation and income level. Health institutions and managers should examine the factors that affect the health service preference of individuals and make changes in accordance with the expectations. While individuals choose health services, their expectations will be met in this direction. The result of the service received from the health institution will leave with positive thoughts.
