The activities of some women in the national movement of the Crimean Turks in Uzbekistan

Abstract

The Crimean Turks who were exiled from their homeland on the night of May 18, 1944, were accused of treason, and after a while they formed a decisive national movement against the Soviet rulet o return to Crimea. Many women were also active in the struggle to return to the homeland, which was initiated by Mustafa Abdülcemil Kırımoğlu, known as the leader of the movement. Many women, such as Zore Beşevli, Sıdıka Cemileva, Ediye Muradosilova, Ayşe Seyitmuratova, Vasfiye Cemileva, Fatma Yazıcıyeva, Şefika Konsul made home meetings in Uzbekistan first. Then the women of the national movement began to establish groups where they were. During this time, each woman was tried to provide coordination with separate tasks. Thus, the women, by writing many letters and petitions, went to Moscow as a deputy of the people and contributed to the studies in the national movement.
