The Kusadasi Municipal Chamber Orchestra

Abstract

The aim of this study is to document the historical development of the Kusadasi Chamber Orchestra. The establishment of this chamber orchestra was only possible after the transfer of Aydın Adnan Menderes University State Conservatory from Aydın province to Kuşadası district and chronically document its historical development, the program and soloist information related to the three-year concert season since the establishment of the orchestra. Additionally, this study acts as a two orchestra comprehensive comparison between the Kuşadası Chamber Orchestra, and İzmir Karşıyaka Municipality Chamber Orchestra (KODA) and which were founded upon similar goals. The end result of this study, including aims, number of concerts, and contents, is to provide information for like minded municipalities and visionaries that will facilitate establishing orchestral organizations in other districts.
