Abstract

The main objective in sustainable local development is to transfer the existing resources to the future by raising the standard of living of the whole ecological system, especially the living human being in the region. In this direction, it is important to develop the regional dynamics as a whole in the economic, ecological, social, political, cultural, physical and governance areas by activating them. One of the potentials in the region is the rural tourism opportunities. In the process of going from localt o global, determining the rural tourism potential and making the tourism possibilities available have the great importance for the sustainable development of the region. This is a study of the history of the Kağızman district, which has been home to tens of thousands of years of historical and cultural traces, dating from the prehistoric period to the end of history, and which has the potential to become a center of attraction its rural tourism possibilities will be handled in all aspects in the name of sustainable local development and the feasibility of tourism activities in terms of domestic and foreign tourists will be tried to be evaluated with in the framework of proper suggestions.
