Abstract

Investigations on individual names reveal a reflection of social memory. The names given in the ten nomadic communities in the records of Hamid Sanjag's dating 1501 and 1522 were tried to be analyzed by taking as examples the studies on the names of persons. The names given by different tribes in different years have been classified and differences and similarities were tried to put forward according to years. The names used in the nomads, the naming traditions, the names of the titles used and the names of the nicknames are shown in the documents. In the study, it was also revealed how the tribes were influenced by the social events that took place during naming and the effects of these events on the names. Ä°n this paper underlined the variety of the names of nomand grups in tahrir registers. Ä°dentified names is presented in Schedule by analysing in detail.
