Abstract

Due to the progress of modern science, recently it is more common to work on large data bases in many fields such as medicine, economy and environmental studies. The analysis of large and continous data sets require further developments of existing methods. Functional Data Analysis (FDA) is an extension of multivariate statistical analysis methods which concerns with the analysis of functional structure data. The aim of this study is to introduce the general framework and the development of FDA approach, to mention the recent studies particularly on functional dimension reduction and functional regression models with a wide literature review and to present a source for the future studies.
