Abstract

The fact that the labor force participation rate of women is lower than that of men is an important problem for developed and developing countries. Patriarchal social structure and socio-cultural structure are among the main reasons that increase women's unemployment. Marriage, pregnancy, birth, family care responsibilities are among the sexist roles that put more work on women and are some of the reasons why women cannot participate in the labor market. In order to reveal the gender inequalities in the labor market in Turkey, in this study; The relationship between the searched job type, the searched job, the status at the last job, the job search time, the reason for leaving the job variables and the gender variable is analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it is seen that gender difference created significant differences on the above mentioned variables.
