Abstract

The notion of globalization which has pointed out that the barriers of borders on the world have gradually diminished and the world has begun to become a smaller place has manifested itself in different dimensions becoming primarily economic, cultural and political dimensions. The increase in the mobility of goods and capital along with the economic dimension of globalization has allowed companies to operate outside their national borders and even has encouraged them. In this study, multinational companies (MNC) will be evaluated on the concept of globalization and mainly on the economic dimension of globalization. As being looked these companies from a historical perspective after that on their importance and places are focused, especially MNCs in Turkey foreign direct investments (FDI) in the context of economic policies that are being implemented periodically from the 19th century today will be examined.
