Preferencias de Financiación de las Empresas Españolas: Nueva evidencia de la Teoría de la Jerarquía

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es comprobar si se cumplen algunas de las implicaciones empíricas de la Teoría de la Jerarquía para el mercado español. Se lleva a cabo el análisis sobre un panel de datos de 1.566 empresas para el periodo 1994-2000. Los resultados muestran que se cumple la Jerarquía para la mayor parte de las submuestras analizadas; concretamente, en las empresas pequeñas y medianas, en las de mayor crecimiento y en las más endeudadas. También se observa que las empresas que se encuentran más endeudadas y menos endeudadas tienden a converger hacia estructuras de capital más equilibradas. Finalmente, se observa que las empresas cubren básicamente su déficit financiero con deuda a largo plazo.
