Impacto de la industria y el turismo sobre el crecimiento economico de las regiones españolas

Abstract

En este trabajo destacamos la importancia de dos variables relevantes en la explicacion del valor añadido regional: el turismo y la inversion industrial. Aunque existen diferencias regionales, salvo excepciones muy concretas, los ingresos por turismo no son suficientes para alcanzar los objetivos de convergencia en PIB per capita y por ello hay que tener en cuenta los incrementos necesarios en la otra variable clave, la inversion industrial. Presentamos un modelo econometrico que recoge la importancia de ambas variables en el crecimiento economico de las regiones españolas en el periodo 1976-95. Finalmente, planteamos varios escenarios alternativos en el contexto de convergencia europea para el año 2010.
