Integración Espacial Del Mercado Del Café Instantáneo Y Molido En Las Tres Principales Ciudades De Colombia

Abstract

Este estudio examina la existencia de integración espacial en el mercado del café molido y del café instantáneo en las tres principales ciudades de Colombia (Bogotá, Cali y Medellín), utilizando datos mensuales entre 1999 y 2016. Los resultados muestran que hay una relación de largo plazo entre los precios minoristas del café instantáneo para Cali y Medellín, Bogotá y Medellín, y Bogotá y Cali. En el caso del café molido sólo entre Bogotá y Medellín. This study examines the existence of spatial integration in the market of ground coffee and instant coffee in the three main cities of Colombia (Bogotá, Cali and Medellín), using monthly data between 1999 and 2016. The results show that there is a long relationship term between retail prices of instant coffee for Cali and Medellín, Bogotá and Medellín, and Bogotá and Cali. In the case of ground coffee only between Bogotá and Medellín.
