Abstract

En este trabajo analizamos la evolución de la esperanza de vida en los países integrantes del MERCOSUR en el período 1970-2000, a través del estudio de su relación con el comportamiento dos indicadores socioeconómicos seleccionados. Con este objetivo, estimamos un modelo econométrico de datos de panel que pone de manifiesto el impacto positivo del crecimiento económico y la educación en la favorable evolución de los niveles de esperanza de vida. In this article we analyze the evolution of life expectancy in the countries members of MERCOSUR in the period 1970-2000, through the study of its relation with two selected socioeconomic indicators. With this purpose, we estimate a panel data econometric model that shows the positive impact of the economic growth and the education on the evolution of the expectancy life levels.
