Mentorenprogramme fördern die Integration von Geflüchteten

Abstract

In den Jahren 2014 bis 2016 suchten über eine Millionen Menschen Zuflucht in Deutschland. Viele BürgerInnen engagierten sich in dieser Zeit auf unterschiedliche Weise, um Geflüchtete zu unterstützen. Insbesondere gewannen Mentorenprogramme an Bedeutung. Wie dieser Bericht zeigt, wirkt sich die Teilnahme an einem Mentorenprogramm positiv auf Geflüchtete aus: Sie verbessern ihre Sprachkenntnisse und sind sozial aktiver. Auch die MentorInnen erleben die Beziehung positiv und möchten sich in Zukunft weiterhin für Geflüchtete engagieren. Damit unterstreicht dieser Bericht die Bedeutung von Begegnungen zwischen Geflüchteten und Mitgliedern der Aufnahmegesellschaft. In der Zukunft sollten solche Initiativen insbesondere für geflüchtete Frauen sowie für Geflüchtete im ländlichen Raum zugänglich gemacht werden.
