SchülerInnen in Corona-Zeiten: Teils deutliche Unterschiede im Zugang zu Lernmaterial nach Schultypen und -trägern

Abstract

Die mit der Corona-Pandemie einhergehenden Schulschließungen im Frühjahr 2020 haben LehrerInnen, SchülerInnen und Eltern vor ungeahnte Herausforderungen gestellt. Dieser Bericht geht auf Basis einer Sonderbefragung des Sozio-oekonomischen Panels (SOEP-CoV) der Frage nach, wie den SchülerInnen während des ersten Lockdowns und in der unmittelbaren Zeit danach Lernmaterial bereitgestellt wurde. Die Ergebnisse zeigen teils deutliche Unterschiede im Zugang zu Lernmaterial nach der Schulart (Gymnasium und andere Sekundarschulen), der Schulträgerschaft sowie nach Ganztags- und Halbtagsangeboten. Beispielsweise erhielten GymnasiastInnen sowohl während des Lockdowns als auch direkt danach sehr viel häufiger als andere SekundarschülerInnen ihr Lernmaterial über Videokonferenzen. Auch bei PrivatschülerInnen war das während des Lockdowns im Vergleich zu SchülerInnen an öffentlichen Schulen der Fall, zudem konnten sie nach dem Lockdown häufiger wieder regulär die Schule besuchen. Solche Unterschiede sind pädagogisch wohl vielfach unbegründet und sollten daher – auch mit Blick auf mögliche erneute Schul(teil)schließungen im Laufe der Corona-Pandemie – abgebaut werden, um ohnehin schon vorhandene Bildungsungleichheiten nicht weiter zu verstärken.
