Gerechtigkeit im europäischen Vergleich: Verteilung nach Bedarf und Leistung in Deutschland besonders befürwortet

Abstract

Anhand aktueller Daten des European Social Survey (ESS) wird die Wahrnehmung der nationalen Erwerbseinkommensgerechtigkeit in Deutschland und mit derjenigen im Rest Europas verglichen. Die große Mehrzahl der europäischen Befragten schätzt niedrige Bruttoerwerbseinkommen als ungerechterweise zu niedrig ein. Hohe Einkommen hingegen werden in Deutschland seltener als zu hoch eingeschätzt als im Rest Europas. Knapp die Hälfte der Europäerinnen und Europäer bewertet das eigene Bruttoerwerbseinkommen als gerecht, wobei gilt: Je höher das eigene Einkommen, desto eher wird dieses als gerecht bewertet. Auffällig ist, dass in Deutschland dieser Zusammenhang besonders stark ist. Grundsätzlich empfinden es die Befragten in Europa und insbesondere in Deutschland als gerecht, dass Güter und Lasten nach Bedarf und Leistung verteilt werden. Das Gleichheitsprinzip wird in Deutschland dagegen häufiger als in anderen europäischen Ländern abgelehnt. Bedarfs- und leistungsgerechte Löhne sind also nötig, damit die Ungleichheit bei den Erwerbseinkommen nicht als zu ungerecht empfunden wird.
