Atom-Moratorium: Keine Stromausfälle zu befürchten

Abstract

Die Bundesregierung hat mit dem Atom-Moratorium beschlossen, dass sieben Atomkraftwerke für drei Monate abgeschaltet werden. Berechnungen des DIW Berlin zeigen, dass trotz der Abschaltung der Atomkraftwerke noch immer ausreichend Strom produziert wird und sich die Strompreise nur geringfügig erhöhen. Die Versorgungssicherheit ist durch das Moratorium nicht bedroht. Allerdings ist mit einer deutlichen Erhöhung der Emission von Treibhausgasen zu rechnen, denn Kohle- und Gaskraftwerke werden einen Großteil des Rückganges der Atomstromproduktion ausgleichen. Eine sofortige vollständige Abschaltung aller Atomkraftwerke wäre nicht möglich, da die verbleibende Anlagenkapazität für die sichere Deckung der Nachfrage zu Spitzenlastzeiten nicht ausreichen würde.
