Elektromobilität: kurzfristigen Aktionismus vermeiden, langfristige Chancen nutzen

Abstract

Elektrische PKW-Antriebe bieten im Vergleich zu konventionellen Verbrennungsmotoren viele Vorteile, insbesondere geringere lokale Emissionen, eine höhere Energieeffizienz und eine geringere Mineralölabhängigkeit. Andererseits stellen Batterietechnik, Anschaffungskosten und Ladeinfrastruktur erhebliche Barrieren für eine schnelle Verbreitung von Elektrofahrzeugen dar. Der Energiebedarf denkbarer Elektrofahrzeugflotten könnte bei einer intelligent gesteuerten Aufladung bereits durch den bestehenden deutschen Kraftwerkspark gedeckt werden, ohne dass größere Preisverwerfungen auftreten. Langfristig könnte mit dem Einstieg in die Elektromobilität ein zukunftsfähiger Technologiepfad eingeschlagen werden. Kurz- und mittelfristig sollten jedoch keine überzogenen Erwartungen gestellt werden, insbesondere hinsichtlich der Reduktion von Treibhausgas-Emissionen. Elektrofahrzeuge allein werden die aktuellen verkehrspolitischen Probleme nicht lösen. Sie können jedoch einen wichtigen Bestandteil eines nachhaltigen Verkehrskonzepts darstellen.
