Zu schwache Nachfrage für einen Aufschwung: ein Zyklenvergleich

Abstract

Die Konjunktur in Deutschland kommt nicht in Fahrt. Bereits seit drei Jahren stagniert die gesamtwirtschaftliche Produktion nahezu. Unterbrochen wurde diese Tendenz von allenfalls zaghaften und nur kurzen Belebungsphasen. Vergleicht man die gegenwärtige wirtschaftliche Schwäche mit entsprechenden früheren Phasen, zeigen sich bemerkenswerte Unterschiede, die die aktuelle Entwicklung als ein neuartiges Stagnationsphänomen erscheinen lassen. Im Unterschied zu früheren Flauten kann die Lohnentwicklung nicht verantwortlich gemacht werden. Vielmehr sind die vielfältigen Beeinträchtigungen der Nachfrage als maßgebliche Ursache der wirtschaftlichen Schwäche zu nennen.
