Industrieproduktion in Deutschland: Impulse für die Konjunkturentwicklung nicht zu erwarten

Abstract

Die Industrieproduktion erwies sich im vergangenen Jahr als eine wichtige Triebkraft der Konjunkturentwicklung in Deutschland. Im Verlauf des Jahres mehrten sich jedoch die Anzeichen für eine langsamere Gangart der Produktionsdynamik. Dennoch blieb das starke Wachstum der Industrieproduktion bis zum Jahresende ungebrochen. Erst im Jahresanfangsquartal 2001 erlitt die Nachfrage nach Industrieprodukten einen deutlichen Rückschlag, und die Produktion expandierte merklich verlangsamt. Angesichts der weltweit stark gedämpften Konjunkturaussichten dürfte die Produktion im Verlauf dieses Jahres nahezu stagnieren. Die gesamtwirtschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen ermöglichen erst im kommenden Jahr eine wieder anziehende Industrieproduktion. Sie dürfte allerdings nur im Gleichschritt mit der Gesamtwirtschaft expandieren.
