Kräftige Steigerung der Exporte nach Nordamerika

Abstract

Seit dem Frühjahr 1999 nehmen die Ausfuhren in die North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA) sprunghaft zu; das Expansionstempo hat sich im zweiten Halbjahr zwar etwas verringert, es war aber immer noch wesentlich stärker als das der Lieferungen in die anderen Industrieländer. Begünstigt wurde diese Entwicklung von der boomenden Inlandsnachfrage in den USA, die durch die Aufwertung des Dollar weiter gestärkt wird. Vom Frühjahr 1995 bis zum dritten Quartal 1999 hat der Dollar gegenüber der D-Mark um rund ein Drittel an Wert gewonnen.
