Perspektiven der Erwerbstätigkeit in Berlin

Abstract

ln der Wirtschaft Berlins vollzieht sich seit der Wiedervereinigung ein tiefgreifender Strukturwandel. Dessen Richtung ist offenkundig: drastischer Rückgang der lndustriebeschäftigung, Stärkung des Dienstleistungssektors. Tempo und Ausmaß dieser Entwicklung sind zwar nach wie vor schwer einzuschätzen, da weiterhin Unklarheit über die künftige Entwicklung wesentlicher Rahmenbedingungen besteht. Inzwischen lassen aber Daten der volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnung eine fundiertere Einschätzung der Ausgangslage und der ökonomischen Entwicklung Berlins zu. Bei einem Wirtschaftswachstum von jahresdurchschnittlich 3 vH und einem nur geringen Zuwachs der Einwohnerzahl wird die Beschäftigung bis zum Jahr 2000 voraussichtlich konstant bleiben. Erst danach erscheint im Zuge der Verlagerung des Regierungssitzes ein Beschäftigungsaufbau und ein deutlicher Rückgang der Arbeitslosigkeit als möglich.
