The Fate Of The Caucasian Scientific Heritage Of A. S. Uvarov And P. S. Uvarova In The 20th Century

Abstract

The aim of the study is the treatment of the fate Caucasian scientific heritage of the Uvarovs married couple in the 20th century. It goes back to the history of the Russian academic Caucasian studies, which is one of the significant, but little studied chapters in the Russian science history. Methods. The principles of cultural, historical philosophy, the cultural historical method. Results. During the study, the author has found that the Uvarovs made a huge contribution to the Caucasian studies. If A. S. Uvarov aroused interest of the Russian educated society for the systematic study of the Caucasus and put the beginning of it. P. S. Uvarova has not only fulfilled his program of consolidation of Russian scientists for the Caucasian research, but also largely determined the path to continue their development in the 20th century Conclusions. The scientific heritage of A. S. and P. S. Uvarov returns to the history of Russian science. It is time to recreate such an important component as the work of the two chairmen of the Moscow Archaeological society on the organization and coordination of the Caucasian study.
