Abstract

The present work is in line with the current concerns of rural economy specialists to find solutions to the complex problems of rural development. Through its content, the paper summarizes the way to conduct research that leads to the elaboration of strategic options regarding the development and diversification of activities in the rural area, using methods, work techniques and strategic analysis tools. In this approach, two fundamental elements are taken into account, which is in close interdependence, namely: on the one hand, the sustainable natural resources that can generate development, and on the other hand, the inhabitants of the rural space as a factor of action and consumption, also having the capacity of beneficiaries of development. The main focus is on highlighting the particularities of using strategic analysis methods in the field of the rural economy.
