Protecţia Socială Acordată Persoanelor Vârstnice Din România

Abstract

Protection of elderly people, their rights and freedoms was the object of the preoccupations of the various bodies of United Nations since 1948 when the third Session of the General Assembly of United Nations has received the proposal of a draft statement regarding the elderly. The issue of older people was on the agenda of the UN Commissions for social problems and for human rights. In parallel, to this study have been associated International Labor Organization, World Health Organization and other specialized institutions, to achieve a comprehensive report which to contain the guiding principles of the national social policies and of the international actions.
