Abstract
Was kennzeichnet diese Konzepte? / The popularity of junior enterprises and student companies has been increasing steadily in the German-speaking countries - not only within the dual education system but also at higher general and vocational schools. For one thing the renaissance of action-oriented and experiential learning is a pedagogic response to the socioeconomic change. Young people are expected to develop key competences for lifelong learning in order to cope with current and future fields of action (EC, 2000; 2006a). For another thing young people shall develop entrepreneurial thinking and acting - keyword „Entrepreneurship Education“ (EC, 2006b; European Council & EC, 2012). -- What are junior enterprises or student companies? What are the characteristics of those concepts? What are the common features and what are the differences? What are the goals of these learning methods? When have those concepts appeared and how have they evolved over time? These questions will be answered in the following essay.
