Ökologische Wende in der regionalen Strukturpolitik: Korporatistische Interessen und Spannungsfelder

Abstract

Trans-Abstract: In the past, regional structural policy (regionale Strukturpolitik) in Germany focused on economic and social structural change. Due to the climate protection agreements, however, the ecological transformation will set the direction in the future. This paper discusses the common motives and tensions of the institutionalized co-operation between the representations of employers and labour in the “greening” of regional structural policy. Trade unions and business associations have undergone a considerable turnaround in recent years and have moved from preserving partly outdated economic structures to shaping the ecological transformation and trade unions are calling for a fair transformation (just transition etc.). However, it is questionable whether they fully support the ecological turnaround also regarding substantial measures, which could lead to less economic growth?
