Aragon Invertebrado. Atraso Economico y Dualismo Interno (1830–1930)

Abstract

Las transformaciones económicas y sociales a que ha dado lugar la consolidación del sistema capitalista en España han supuesto un crecimiento menor de las regiones agrarias del interior peninsular. Entre ellas se encuentra la economía aragonesa. Un amplio territorio hasta hace pocos años predominantemente agrario, con escasa densidad de población y poco urbanizado, situado en la cuenca central del valle del Ebro. Región histórica de variada geomorfología y diversidad climática y edáfica (la fértil ribera del Ebro zaragozana y la zona central del valle contrastan con las montañosas provincias de Huesca y Teruel), con más del 30 por 100 de su superficie por encima de los 1.000 metros de altitud frente al 20 por 100 de media española y escasas comunicaciones, que lo caracterizan como territorio poco vertebrado.
