El Desarrollo urbano y la decadencia española

Abstract

En años recientes se han realizado nuevas interpretaciones sobre la decadencia de España y la relación entre el declinar político de los Austrias y la decadencia económica de Castilla. Este trabajo vuelve a examinar dicha relación empleando conceptos tomados de la geografía económica y el desarrollo urbano. Con ello proporciona un marco teórico en el que se incluyen tres cuestiones históricas: la decadencia de Españ;a, la efectividad de los Austrias en la consolidación del Estado y el persistente estancamiento del interior de Españ;a.
