Caracterización de los factores que determinan la asistencia a programas públicos para la primera infancia en Ecuador

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza las características de los factores que determinan la asistencia a programas públicos para la primera infancia en Ecuador. El estudio inicia con una revisión de la literatura, presentando los orígenes de los programas de primera infancia y la normativa vigente. Adicionalmente, revisa el contexto ecuatoriano para la primera infancia. Posteriormente, desarrolla la sección empírica utilizando datos correspondientes a la Encuesta de Condiciones de Vida (ECV) del año 2013-2014. En la estimación se usa un modelo Probit para determinarla probabilidad de asistencia a un programa público de desarrollo infantil. Los resultados sugieren que las modalidades de programa y edad del menor están influenciadas de forma heterogénea por las características individuales, de la madre, del hogar y geográficas.
