La paradoja de Easterlin en España

Abstract

La Paradoja de Easterlin se refiere al hecho de que el crecimiento de la renta por persona y por tanto del bienestar en términos de bienes y servicios no viene acompañado por un crecimiento similar del sentimiento subjetivo de satisfacción con la vida que la población declara en las encuestas al efecto. En este artículo analizamos los datos de España de 1980 hasta 2005 para mostrar que la Paradoja de Easterlin se cumple en nuestro país. También estudiamos las relaciones entre la variable satisfacción en nuestro país y los de nuestro entorno en busca de patrones de comportamiento similares con resultados un tanto sorprendentes.
