Abstract

Con este título fue publicado un libro por la editorial Deusto, en Barcelona en el año 2007, que reúne una serie de trabajos del Premio Nobel de Economía 1998, Amartya Sen, y el asesor principal del PNUD para América Latina, Bernardo Kliksberg. El contenido del libro se expresa en su subtítulo: Una mirada desde la ética del desarrollo a los principales problemas del mundo globalizado. El concepto de ética del desarrollo es nuevo en las ciencias sociales y estos dos autores pueden ser considerados entre los más importantes representantes de este nuevo enfoque. El libro está integrado por doce capítulos, seis de cada uno de los autores. Los trabajos de Sen tienen carácter general y los de Kliksberg se circunscriben al ámbito de América Latina. Los temas tratados son muy variados, entre ellos: la globalización, la exclusión, la salud, la equidad, la juventud, la cultura.
