Abstract

“Yo siempre he creído que el futuro de Colombia está en su pasado”, dijo alguna vez Gonzalo Restrepo Jaramillo, un destacado político y empresario antioqueno de la primera mitad del siglo xx. Como él, muchos otros pensamos que se puede aprender del pasado para construir el futuro; pero es importante precisar, desde ahora, que no se pretende mirar al pasado para construir modelos de imitación o réplica, y mucho menos para levantar ídolos sobre la premisa de que “todo tiempo pasado fue mejor”, como suelen afirmar algunos pesimistas."
