Minería en Usme, Bogotá: justicia espacial y percepciones sociales

Abstract

La minería se ha convertido en uno de los temas más sensibles y polémicos en nuestro país y en América Latina, no solo por sus efectos ambientales sobre los ecosistemas, sino también por los impactos sociales que genera, principalmente relacionados con el avance de explotaciones en sectores poblados, procesos urbanizadores ilegales y generación de zonas de riesgo. Frente a este fenómeno, la justicia espacial se configura en una categoría crítica que permite interpretar los procesos de desigualdad generados a partir de este tipo de explotaciones. El objetivo del artículo es analizar las percepciones sociales sobre la minería a partir de la justicia espacial. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se utilizó el estudio de caso, así como herramientas para la recolección de información como encuestas, entrevistas, observación participante y cartografía social. Se destaca el sentimiento de injusticia espacial cuando las personas manifiestan su inconformismo ante la concentración de las explotaciones mineras en zonas deprimidas, económica, política y socialmente.
