El cubio como una alternativa productiva sostenible en condiciones de agricultura urbana de Bogotá

Abstract

El cubio (Tropaeolum tuberosum) es una especie vegetal nativa que representa posibilidades de valor agregado como alternativa de reconversión productiva agroindustrial para pequenos productores en los frágiles ecosistemas de la alta montana colombiana y de los habitantes urbanos de Bogotá. Como las otras especies de raíces y tubérculos andinos, el cubio es poseedor de una gran riqueza nutricional superior a los productos agrícolas tradicionales. del producto cosechado. Fue mayor la producción con la fertilización orgánica, a diferencia de los tratamientos con fertilizantes químicos convencionales que solo aportan los tres elementos esenciales: nitrógeno, fósforo y potasio. De lo estudiado, se plantean amplias posibilidades de esta especie para ser incluida como alternativa productiva sustentable de bajo costo y amigable con el ambiente.
