El sector externo y su incidencia en la ocupación en Colombia 1985-2006

Abstract

La autora emprendió una investigación que se fijó como objetivo realizar, mediante un modelo econométrico de regresión, la validación empírica del impacto que sobre la ocupación nacional han tenido las siguientes actividades relacionadas con el sector externo: exportaciones (X), importaciones (M), exportaciones netas (XN) e inversión extranjera directa (IED). Los resultados indican que existe una alta asociación entre la ocupación y las exportaciones. No obstante, este efecto prácticamente se anula con el incremento de las importaciones. En cuanto a la IED que tiene una baja participación en el PIB, su correlación con el empleo no es significativa.
