Abstract

ResumenLa presente investigación estudia la economía informal en Villavicencio,dado el creciente auge de este sector y la limitada producción científicasobre las implicaciones de la informalidad en el espacio económico y social dela ciudad. La economía informal en Villavicencio es persistente, incluso, hallegado a ser la mayor generadora de empleo en la ciudad. Las teorías de lasCiencias Sociales la describen como una problemática que afecta la calidadde vida de las personas. Este artículo pretende interpretar el fenómeno de lainformalidad a partir de una mirada despojada de prejuicios que la calificancomo un obstáculo para el desarrollo del mercado, además, muestra las interaccionesde tipo económico y social, que exponen, en el estilo de vida de losinformales, una lucha por sobrevivir.******This research examines the informal economy in Villavicencio, giventhe increasing growth of this sector and the limited scientific literature onthe implications of informality in the economic and social space of the city.The informal economy is constant and the biggest employment generator inVillavicencio. Social science theories, describes it as a problems that affectspeople´s quality life. This article tries to interpret this phenomenon of informalityfrom a point of view without bias. It considers it like an obstacle formarket development. Also, it shows economic and social interactions, whichexhibit informal life style like a struggle to survive.
