Petróleo y carbón: situación actual y perspectivas

Abstract

Los precios del petróleo y del carbón se encuentran en niveles muy favorables y han afectado el desempeno de estos combustibles fósiles en la economía colombiana en los últimos meses. El agotamiento de las reservas de petróleo explica la disminución en la producción que a junio de este ano reportó una caída de 3%, mientras que las exportaciones de crudo y sus derivados alcanzaron un crecimiento de 14% anual en el mismo periodo. Por su parte, la acumulación de inventarios de carbón que ha seguido el exceso de demanda internacional del ano anterior ha causado que el aumento en la producción del mineral no se refleje en un crecimiento proporcional en las exportaciones (a junio aumentaron 20% y 2% anual respectivamente).
