Perú frente a Colombia y Chile Desarrollos distintos en la Alianza del Pacífico

Abstract

A partir de los anos dos mil, Perú sorprendió a sus vecinos y principales socios en la Alianza del Pacífico, Colombia y Chile, al acelerar la tasa de crecimiento de su producto interno bruto (PIB) por encima de su nivel histórico. Con dichas tasas Perú dio la impresión de que, finalmente, había logrado destrabar su comportamiento económico luego de las dificultades económicas y políticas que experimentó durante los anos ochenta y noventa del siglo pasado. Pero tampoco esas tasas alcanzaron ni en valor ni en tiempo las que lograron los países del sudeste asiático, como Corea y China, durante varias décadas. ¿Qué sucedió en la economía, en la sociedad o en la política peruana que indujo un comportamiento económico distinto al de décadas anteriores? ¿Por qué sus tasas de crecimiento, aunque sea elevaron, no alcanzaron a las tasas asiáticas? A partir de diferente información y fuentes estadísticas, el siguiente texto presenta un análisis tratando de responder a dichas preguntas.
