In Search of a Definition For the History of Economic Thought

Abstract

ResumenEsta nota discute algunas ideas sobre el carácter, el método y la identidad del historiador del pensamiento económico, quien se define como un economista "generalista" cuya característica principal es su conocimiento de las teorías económicas generales. Las teorías generales permiten, por una parte, establecer un vínculo con las distintas especialidades económicas y, por otra parte, permiten reconciliarse con la economía contemporánea. De esta manera, el historiador del pensamiento económico ocupa un lugar preciso y permanente dentro de la economía.
