La oferta laboral femenina y sus determinantes: evidencia para Colombia conestimativas de cohortes sintéticas

Abstract

Resumen: La elasticidad de la oferta de trabajo al salario real tiene amplias y significativas implicaciones para entender las fluctuaciones de la economía y para evaluar los efectos de cambios en políticas económicas. La literatura reciente enfatiza la importancia de distinguir entre elasticidades intertemporales y no compensadas, teniendo en cuenta la endogenidad del salario. En este trabajo se construyen pseudo-paneles de horas de trabajo y salarios reales para mujeres con el objetivo de estimar elasticidades de horas de trabajo al salario real; se encuentra apoyo para la teoría del ciclo de vida, con horas de trabajo parcialmente cóncavas y paralelas a la concavidad de salarios, además, las elasticidades intertemporales y no compensadas de oferta a salarios suelen ser positivas pero pequenas en magnitud.
