El juego de las pirámides

Abstract

El auge y el colapso de las pirámides son explicados a través de un modelo de redes sociales, en el que la pirámide es el componente más grande de la red social en la que nace. Dado que todo componente es conexo (para cada uno de sus pares de nodos hay por lo menos un camino que los une), a través de sus caminos fluye la información correspondiente al pago o no pago de intereses a los inversionistas, lo cual permite la formación de conjeturas colectivas acerca de la viabilidad de la pirámide. La misma estructura social que explica el auge de las pirámides está en la base de su estrepitosa caída.
