Un análisis reciente sobre la inflación, el crecimiento y la política monetaria en Colombia

Abstract

Resumen: el objetivo de este artículo es presentar un análisis sobre la evolución reciente de la inflación, el producto y la política monetaria. Se argumenta que desde 2006 comenzaron a registrarse presiones sobre nivel de precios, las cuales provinieron tanto del lado de la demanda como de la oferta agregada. Estas presiones fueron previstas por el Banco de la República, razón por la cual se incrementó la tasa de interés de intervención. No obstante, se conjugaron una serie de factores internos y externos que no permitieron el logro delobjetivo de inflación fijado por la Junta Directiva del Banco. En este trabajo se explican los principales causantes de la inflación en Colombia, su impacto sobre el producto y se justifican algunas decisiones del Banco de la República en términos de política monetaria
