Sector externo colombiano: motor de recuperación económica

Abstract

Resumen: La recuperación económica colombiana observada desde 2002 ha sido resultado de factores internos y externos; entre los internos está la reactivación de la inversión privada y el consumo, motivados por la confianza en la actual situación económica, política y de seguridad del país, que ha llevado a un aumento significativo de la demanda interna. Entre los factores externos se tiene el mayor nivel de exportaciones hacia Estados Unidos, el alza en los precios internacionales de productos básicos como el petróleo y la mayor inversión extranjera directa en el país, factores que convirtieron al sector externo en motor de crecimiento en 2003. Igualmente, para 2004 se espera que este proceso de recuperación continúe, aunque muy ligado al desempeno económico mundial y específicamente de Estados Unidos.
