Los ingresos del petróleo como mecanismo de ajuste externo en Colombia: 2000-2007

Abstract

Resumen: este artículo presenta algunas ideas que permiten analizar la importancia del sector petrolero en el desempeno del sector externo en Colombia en el periodo 2000-2007, destacando como los recursos del petróleo se han convertido en una alternativa de ajuste que ha contribuido activamente al logro del equilibrio externo en todo lo corrido de la presente década. Para resaltar, la alta participación de los ingresos petroleros en la balanza comercial y en la cuenta de capitales del país que han permitido una importante participación de estos recursos en las exportaciones totales, del orden del 27,8%, y de la influencia de éstos en el comportamiento de los flujos de capital cuyo porcentaje de las reservas internacionales netas representaron el 36,2% entre 2000-2006.
