Exportaciones Industriales Del Valle Del Cauca 1980-2005: Un Ejercicio De Datos De Panel

Abstract

A través de un ejercicio econométrico de datos de panel, el presente artículo estima la sensibilidad de las exportaciones de las diferentes ramas de actividad industrial del departamento del Valle del Cauca respecto a tres variables: demanda externa, tipo de cambio y acuerdos comerciales durante el período 1980-2005, lapso que cobija épocas cruciales para el desarrollo del sector exportador (antes de los noventa, poca diversificación comercial; durante los noventa, apertura económica; y el siglo XXI, auge de acuerdos comerciales); sin embargo, dado que el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística, Dane -fuente de donde proceden los datos- cambió y ajustó su uso de la Clasificación Internacional Industrial Uniforme, CIIU, en niveles de desagregación mayor, se presentan algunas incompatibilidades, motivo por el cual el límite temporal en esta investigación es el 2005. Los resultados reflejan una alta sensibilidad de las exportaciones respecto al ingreso mundial y los precios relativos (TCR).
