Competitividad de las exportaciones de la industria manufacturera de Antioquia: evidencia empírica y determinantes utilizando un modelo SUR

Abstract

Este artículo tiene como propósito principal examinar el estado, la evolución y las causas de la competitividad exportadora de la industria de Antioquia durante el período 1977-2000, región que además del liderazgo industrial, se distinguió por la defensa del régimen proteccionista. Mediante un modelo de regresión -regresiones aparentemente no relacionadas (SUR, por su sigla en inglés)- y, pese a las diferencias intersectoriales, se concluye que una menor protección efectiva y mejoras de la eficiencia productiva son dos de los factores que más han influido en la competitividad exportadora y la reorientación de la producción hacia los mercados externos.
