El impacto del cultivo de cacao en los niveles de pobreza: Evidencia regional para el Perú, 2008-2019

Abstract

Este artículo analiza la relación entre las medidas de cuarentena por el covid-19 y el empleo en Lima Metropolitana y Callao en 2020, con énfasis en las diferencias de género. La vulnerabilidad de las mujeres en el mercado laboral, evidenciada en menores salarios, roles domésticos y alta informalidad, hace relevante este análisis. Usando la Encuesta Permanente de Empleo (EPE) y mínimos cuadrados ordinarios (MCO), se evaluaron las restricciones de movilidad y su impacto en las horas trabajadas y los ingresos por hora. La disminución de las horas trabajadas afectó más a mujeres jefas de hogar, mientras que las mujeres en empleos esenciales y hombres del sector formal registraron aumento. En ingresos, las mujeres tuvieron una reducción significativa, con aumentos para hombres esenciales y mujeres en el sector formal. El estudio resalta la necesidad de políticas públicas que mitiguen desigualdades laborales y protejan a los más vulnerables. Palabras clave: empleo, empleo de las mujeres, ingresos, Perú.
