Salud y productividad laboral en Colombia

Abstract

En este artículo se estudian las relaciones entre dos indicadores básicos de salud y la productividad laboral en Colombia, y se explora cómo el gasto público en salud podría mejorar la productividad de los individuos. Las estadísticas indican que las mujeres sufren con más frecuencia de problemas relacionados con la salud, que dichos problemas son más comunes entre las cohortes mayores, y que los residentes en zonas rurales se ven más afectado por problemas de salud. Los que tienen mayor nivel educativo son considerablemente más saludables y tienen una mayor estatura que aquellos individuos con bajo nivel educativo.
