Análisis regional del crecimiento económico y el empleo en el estado de Sonora

Abstract

El objetivo en este estudio es investigar la influencia del crecimiento económico en la generación de empleo durante la primera década del siglo XXI en el estado de Sonora y sus regiones. Para ello, primero se estima el coeficiente de elasticidad-empleo regional y luego, con un modelo econométrico, se identifican los factores que explican la creación de empleo en las regiones y el estado. La región Costa, con 0.421, presentó a finales de la década el mayor coeficiente de elasticidad-empleo –mayor aún que el estado (0.362)–, seguida por la región Frontera (0.304) y la región Sierra (0.072). La región Costa mostró también amplia preeminencia en la proporción de inversión, generación de valor agregado y empleo, aunque los coeficientes de elasticidad-empleo resultaron bajos para las tres regiones y el estado.
